The LSU Athletic Training Symposium is targeted towards high school students interested in sports medicine. Participants will experience a behind-the-scenes look at how the LSU Athletic Training Department operates as well as learn important information geared specifically towards Athletic Training Students. Every attempt will be made to accommodate all skill levels.The day will consist of :
- "A typical day of a Certified Athletic Trainer and Athletic Training Student"
- Hands on labs including: Anatomy with Palpations, Taping Techniques, Splinting, Spine-Boarding, Wound care, and Concussion assessment
- Tours of the LSU Athletic Training facilities, LSU Football Operations, and the Pete Maravich Assembly Center
- Interactions with the LSU Athletic Training Education Program Director and LSU Staff Athletic Trainers and Athletic Training Students
